Purchase Maximo Licenses

If you want to own the right to use your Maximo solution, you have two different options to choose from:

 

”Perpetual” – You purchase licenses from Epical and thereby have ongoing access to support, updates, and fixes from IBM. This is provided that you renew 'S&S' annually.

 

”Subscription” – You purchase a subscription with licenses from Epical and have ongoing access to support, updates, and fixes from IBM during the subscription period.

 

In both cases above, you can purchase your Maximo licenses either based on the number of concurrent users or based on named users. So choose what suits you best.

 

When you own your licenses, it is your responsibility as the owner to ensure you have the necessary number of licenses reflecting your organization’s needs. We can help measure license requirements and, if necessary, adjust permissions and login times to reduce license consumption.

Your organization owns the solution and the licenses. If desired, Epical can assist with implementing, supporting, managing, and developing your solution.

Frequently asked questions

What are the main differences between purchasing Maximo licences and subscribing to them, as with Epical’s Ready Made and Tailor Made packages?
If you have purchased your licences to own the right to use the system and access IBM support, you also own the system and all the data. These may be important principles and mandatory requirements in certain organisations, such as public authorities. If you own your own licences, you are also responsible for ensuring that you are correctly licensed in relation to the use of the system.

If you subscribe to the right to use the system via Epical’s Ready Made and Tailor Made you naturally own your data, but in this case it is Epical that owns the licences and the system setup. As the licences are owned by Epical in this instance, it is also Epical that bears responsibility for ensuring the system is used in accordance with the correct licensing terms.

Subscribing rather than buying can offer added value and better value for money. What is right or wrong will vary from case to case.
Can the purchase of Maximo Application Suite licences be included as part of a development programme within Enterprise Asset Management?
Yes, the purchase of Maximo Application Suite licences can be combined with Epical’s "All the way to value" concept. The preliminary project will begin with a business Audit in which the operations (maintenance, warehousing and operational procurement) are assessed to identify the current situation, after which the desired state will be defined.

The action plan resulting from the audit then forms the basis for the implementation project, which focuses on closing the gaps between the current situation and the desired state, as well as implementing Maximo Application Suite.

The result is standardised business processes that reflect the use and configuration of the Maximo Application Suite. The organisation undergoes process-oriented training in the areas where staff typically work. The practical training takes place in the stages where support systems, such as Maximo, are to be used. To ensure everyone’s involvement and proficiency, ‘Change Management’ tools are applied from start to finish, including follow-up after ‘Go live’.
Does purchasing Maximo Application Suite licences allow us to set up a Maximo support contract with Epical?

Yes, the purchase of Maximo Application Suite licences can be combined with Epical’s delivery model for support, maintenance and development for you Maximo Application Suite.
